About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the publisher of Brick (“we”, “us”). They apply to the Brick app for iPhone and Apple Watch (and the Android app once it is released) and to this website.
By downloading or using Brick, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Brick
You must be at least 16 years old to use Brick. By using it, you confirm that you are.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Brick on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.
The app, the exercise library, the animations and illustrations, the texts, the Brick name and logo, and everything else we created remain ours or our licensors’. You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute them, and you may not decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
Accounts
You can use Brick without an account. Creating one (with Sign in with Apple, Google or an email and password) lets you restore your data on another phone. Keep access to your sign-in method secure: anything done through your account is considered done by you. Tell us at support@brickgym.app if you think someone else has accessed it.
Free and Premium
Free. Brick’s free version includes unlimited workout logging, up to 3 active routines and the last 90 days of history in your statistics and calendar. Older workouts are never deleted: they stay in your account and are always included in exports.
Premium. Premium unlocks extra features, such as unlimited routines, your full history and statistics, progress photos, monthly reports and Brick Coach. The exact list is shown in the app before you buy.
- Plans. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. The price, in your local currency and including applicable taxes, is shown in the app before you confirm.
- Payment. You pay the App Store (and, later, Google Play), not us. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same length and current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in your App Store account settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or in Brick under Profile → Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. Premium stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app or your Brick account does not cancel the subscription.
- Free trial. Brick doesn’t currently offer a free trial. If we offer a trial or an introductory price in the future, its terms will be shown before you buy.
- Price changes. If the price changes, the store informs you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before you are charged the new price.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by the store, so refunds follow its policies. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
- When Premium ends. You go back to the free version. Your data is kept: routines beyond the free limit are locked, not deleted, and your full history comes back if you subscribe again.
Health and safety
Brick is not a medical device and doesn’t give medical advice. The programs, Coach suggestions, exercise instructions, animations, statistics, calorie estimates and heart rate figures are general information meant for healthy adults. They are based on published research and fixed rules, not on an assessment of your health.
- Talk to a doctor or another qualified professional before you start a new training program, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury, are pregnant, or haven’t exercised in a while.
- Learn the correct technique, warm up, use appropriate loads and equipment, and use a spotter when needed.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or discomfort, and get medical advice if it doesn’t go away.
You train at your own risk, and you are responsible for choosing exercises and loads that suit you. This doesn’t limit our liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited (see below).
Your content
Your workouts, routines, notes, custom exercises, measurements and photos belong to you. You give us permission to store, process, sync and display them only to provide Brick to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don’t publish your content. Share cards are created only when you choose to share them, and you decide where they go.
You can export your data at any time in Profile → Settings → Data → Export data.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Brick for anything unlawful;
- try to access other users’ data, or our servers, other than through the app as intended;
- get around Premium restrictions, or interfere with Brick’s security, servers or other users;
- copy or extract the exercise library, animations or other content in bulk, by automated means or otherwise;
- upload content that infringes someone else’s rights, or that is illegal or harmful, including in custom exercises or photos.
Third-party services
Brick works with services from other companies, such as the App Store, Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in and Apple Health. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we aren’t responsible for them. Integrations marked “coming soon” in the app are not available yet.
Availability and changes to Brick
We work to keep Brick reliable, but we can’t guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may update, change or stop features, for example to improve the app or comply with the law. If we remove a Premium feature you have paid for, or stop Brick altogether, we’ll give you reasonable notice and you can still export your data.
Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you. Export is free on every plan.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, in particular for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services.
Within those limits:
- we aren’t liable for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable when you started using Brick, or that result from you not following these terms or the health and safety advice above;
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Brick at any time, and delete your account in Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Unless that would be unlawful or compromise security, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data. If we close your account without good reason, we’ll refund the unused part of any subscription period you paid for.
Apple App Store
If you downloaded Brick from the App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Brick or its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Brick;
- if Brick doesn’t conform to an applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding Brick;
- Apple isn’t responsible for handling any claims relating to Brick, including product liability claims, claims that Brick doesn’t meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims;
- Apple isn’t responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of any claim that Brick infringes someone else’s intellectual property;
- you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
Governing law and disputes
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts of that country.
If you have a problem, please write to us first at support@brickgym.app. Most issues can be solved quickly that way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects you, we’ll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Brick and delete your account before then.
