How to do the Smith Machine Incline Bench Press

  1. Set the bench to 30–45 degrees under the Smith bar so it comes down to your upper chest.

  2. Grip the bar slightly wider than your shoulders and unhook it.

  3. Lower the bar under control to just above your chest.

  4. Press until your arms are straight and re-hook the bar when you finish.

The pecs push your arms forward and across your body. Presses build the most mass; flyes and cable work load the stretch the presses miss.
