How to do the Smith Machine Squat
Set the Smith bar on your upper back and place your feet slightly in front of your torso.
Unhook the bar by rotating your wrists.
Squat down by bending your knees and hips until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
Drive through the floor to stand up and re-hook the bar at the end of the set.

When you hit the top of the rep range on every set, add 5 kg (10 lb) next session and work back up.
Starting points from training research. Stop each set 1–3 reps short of failure.

Secondary
The front of your thighs straightens the knee. Squats, leg presses and lunges with deep knee bend build them; leg extensions isolate them.
